How Do You Keep Dogs Safe on Walks in the Austin Heat?
Austin summers are hard on paws. Walks can be booked any time from 6:30am to 9:30pm, so you can choose cooler early morning or evening times instead of midday.
Cooler times: book early morning or evening walks in summer.
Paw check: if the pavement is too hot for your hand for 10 seconds, it is too hot for paws.
Watch for overheating: heavy panting, stumbling or unusual behavior mean it is time to go inside.
Higher risk dogs: flat-faced, thick-coated and heavier dogs overheat faster.

How much does dog walking cost in Austin?
Our one-on-one dog walks start at $32 for 15 minutes. Walks of 25, 30, 45 and 60 minutes cost $38, $40, $54 and $67.
Are your dog walks one-on-one or group walks?
One-on-one. Your dog is the only dog on the walk.
How long are the walks?
You can choose 15, 25, 30, 45 or 60 minutes.
How often should my dog be walked?
Most dogs need at least one or two walks a day. We help you choose the right schedule for your dog's age and energy at your meet-and-greet.
Can I track my dog's walk?
Yes. After every walk you get the GPS route, time and notes in the Time To Pet app.
Will my dog be on a leash?
Yes, always. Our walkers never use choke or prong collars.
What time of day can you walk my dog?
Any time from 6:30am to 9:30pm, every day. In summer, early morning and evening walks are safest in the Austin heat.
Do you charge extra for more than one dog?
No. We price by walk length, not by the number of dogs.
Can I meet my walker before the first walk?
Yes. Every booking starts with an intro call and a free meet-and-greet at your home.
Do you walk dogs on holidays?
Yes. Holiday dates add $20 per visit and peak dates add $12. See our Peak & Holiday Schedule.
What happens if my dog gets hurt on a walk?
We contact you or your emergency contact in Time To Pet first. If we cannot reach you in time, we take your dog to your regular vet or the nearest animal hospital. Emergency vet costs are paid by the pet owner.
